How My Creations Began?
Well, in 2005, I was 34 years old and diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer. Some months later I underwent a lumpectomy followed by a full mastectomy. UnfortuanteIy, I found that the same medical treatment that saved my life caused and left devastating effects to my body.Now, I am sure everyone knows how cancer treatments commonly takes its toll on patient’s hair, but with the added effects of acne breakouts, scaring, serious weight loss, and teeth rotting to the point of complete removal - there was nothing that could substitute or pardon the ugly portrait I faced when I looked into the mirror each day. More than anything, I longed for the treatment to be over so I could see the new me. Soon, I began to encourage myself by making dolls which looked like something I really hoped would resemble the new me. Naturally, it occurred to me that I should start making dolls for others who probably felt like me - who hoped and desired to see restoration & become the new Eve. It was by that acknowledgement and God's favor that the concept of Eden Angels began.
